Required Knowledge
Yul Guk (Yul Gouk) was the pen name of the Master Yi, of the Yi Dynasty. He was so brilliant that he passed the national examination for selecting public servants at the age of 13. Yul Guk participated in many national affairs and held various government appointments. Later, he resigned from the government service to devote himself to his writing. He published many books on philosophy and Confucianism. Yul Guk also pointed out several problems with the government system and suggested reforms that had a tremendous impact on the social policy in the Yi Dynasty. He was later referred to as the Confucius of Korea.
336 Movements
Green Belt represents the growth of the plant and the sprouting of the leaves. The student is growing and developing power in techniques as the basics begin to work in unison.

Tournament Sparring students receive one point for kicks and punches to the body, two points for kicks to the headgear and jump kicks to the body. Three points are awarded for jump kicks to the headgear.
No contact is needed for points to be called. Students are encouraged to come as close to the target areas while showing the utmost control.
Target Area Hook kicks strike with the heel and the leg begin and ends with a bent knee. Crescent kicks strike with the blade of the foot and the leg remains straight through the kick.
