Brown Belt Curriculum

Forms:
1st Stripe:

  1. 11 movements of Kwang Ho, without assistance
  2. Explain the meaning of Brown Belt
  3. Good attendance (min. 5 classes)
  4. Consistent effort (min. 2 weeks)

2nd Stripe:

  1. 25 movements of the form, without assistance
  2. All required knowledge of Kwang Ho
  3. Good attendance (min. 10 classes)
  4. Consistent effort (min. 4 weeks)

3rd Stripe:

  1. All 39 movements of the form, without assistance
  2. All required knowledge of Kwan Ho
  3. Demonstrate Chon Ji (White Belt form) and required knowledge
  4. Good attendance (min. 15 classes)
  5. Consistent effort (min. 7 weeks)

Red Stripe:

  1. Self Defense 1-3
  2. Demonstrate advanced kick
  3. Good attendance (min. 20 classes)
  4. Consistent effort (min 9 weeks)

Brown Stripe:

  1. Explain the purpose of Board Breaking
  2. Board Breaking – Min. of 4 breaks: Front Kick, Side Kick, Hammer Fist and Palm Heel
  3. Good attendance (min. 25 classes)
  4. Consistent effort (min. 12 weeks)

SENIOR BROWN

  1. Students must be able to perform all skills listed above upon request.
  2. Students must have at least 14 weeks and 34 days of training.
  3. Students must submit their Testing Application prior to testing.
  4. Juniors must submit their Academic Report or report card.

NOTE: Students and parents must recognize that simply meeting the above requirements does not always mean that the students are able to test. Some students may need more time to achieve their personal best.

Kwang Ho (Kwang Ho) Kwang Ho Le was one of the first people to bring TaeKwonDo to New Jersey in the 1970’s.
39 Movements

Brown Belt represents the Earth from which the plant grows.

Board Breaking is a demonstration of proper technique and confidence. Accuracy, balance, speed, and focus will give students the power needed to break wood.
